In a recent issue of my local newspaper, Prime Minister  Justin Trudeau is reported as saying in relation to the United States “From the beaches of Normandy to the mountains of the Korean peninsula, from the fields of Kandahar, we have fought and died along side you during your darkest hours. What darkest hours is he talking about? Certainly not Pearl Harbor as Canada was not involved. What American darkest hours occurred in Europe? Thousands of Canadians died in both the First and Second World Wars for more than two years in each case before the United States even became involved. The darkest hours in both those wars fell on European countries that had been conquered or were under threat of conquest. Our Prime Minister seems woefully ignorant of Canadian History in his attempt to suck up to the Americans.

The late Mahatma Gandhi is quoted as saying “If there is an idiot in power; it is because those who elected him are well represented.”
