THE GUN SITUATION
The Liberal Party of Canada under Trudeau No. 2 appear hell bent on removing many legally acquired firearms from the hands of law-abiding citizens. It seems that the vast majority of gun crimes are being committed by unlicensed individuals using unregistered firearms but that doesn’t seem to bother the woke crowd who keep allowing illegal immigrants, some with lethal weapons, to enter our country. Guns legally owned by mentally competent law-abiding Canadian citizens are acceptable for many purposes such as national defence, law enforcement, predator control, self-defence, marksmanship to improve personal skill (similar to golfing) and in shooting competitions.
To give but one example of how politicised this situation has become, take the designation of the Ruger Ranch Rifle and the similar Ruger Mini 14 as assault rifles. Now I would estimate that any army in the world armed with real assault rifles would love to come up against an opposing force armed with Ruger Ranch Rifles. Ruger have made truly great firearms for several generations but the Ranch Rifle which was made for pest control against coyotes, wolves, etc., is definitely not a military grade weapon and I would not like to come up against a Grizzley bear if I were armed only with one of these rifles. They are very reliable, fun to shoot, but not the choice of many for target shooting. In Canada they are now restricted to a 5-round magazine which means that someone practising marksmanship, where ten rounds are normally fired before stopping to check the target, has to change magazines half way through the process. There is the only one reason why Trudeau No.2 has designated the Ranch Rifle and Mini 14 as assault rifles and that is because one was used by the mentally deranged Marc Lepine to murder 14 and wound another 14 innocent white female students at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989. By the way, Marc Lepine was born with the name Gamil Rodrigue Liass Garbi, which in itself speaks volumes. His father was an Algerian immigrant to Canada. Allah Akbar!
For Trudeau No. 2 the designation was purely political as a sop to the bereaved relatives of the unfortunate victims. It has not reduced the amount of gun violence in Canada, which has actually increased since 1989 and has left legal owners of the Ruger Ranch Rifle and Mini 14, along with over a thousand other legally purchased and owned sporting and hunting firearms, uncertain of their future. The real problem is not with guns themselves but with mentally unstable individuals and terrorists who should not be allowed to possess guns in our country.
I would like to recommend to readers an excellent book, GLOBAL GUN GRAB, The United Nations Campaign to Disarm Americans, by William Norman Grigg. It applies equally to European Brothers in Canada. You are unlikely to find this title in your local woke bookstore but it and many other great reads are available from: [email protected]
