PROHIBITED FIREARMS FARCE

Certain firearms that were previously classified as restricted are now classified as prohibited by the Canadian Government, in spite of the fact that more modern and more accurate firearms with the same or improved capabilities can be purchased and used legally. One of the former restricted rifles that has now been declared prohibited is the Ruger Mini-14 and its virtual twin, the Ruger Ranch Rifle.

The only reason why these rifles were restricted by the Trudeau No.2 government is because one was used by anti-feminist Marc Lepine to euthanize 14 unfortunate young women at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989. Buckling under pressure from potential supporters, Trudeau No. 2 declared the Mini-14 a restricted weapon although thousands of them are legally owned in Canada. I know of none of them being used for an illegal purpose in the last quarter century. This restriction is not the fault of our police forces.

If an enemy were faced with an opponent armed with either of these 30-year old guns they would sit back and laugh. Only an anti-militarist with a pea sized brain would consider the Ruger Mini-14 an assault rifle but in the meantime legal owners are prohibited from taking them for target practice at a shooting range. Oh yes, Indigenous persons exercising Aboriginal or treaty rights to hunt get an exemption under certain circumstances until the end of an amnesty period. Big surprise eh? They should be restricted to their traditional bow, arrows, and spears.
