Christmas Trees a European Tradition

Don’t let anyone forget that Christmas Trees are a European tradition originating in Germany.

Queen Victoria had grown up with the tradition of decorating a tree at Christmas time, a custom introduced to the English court by her Hanoverian ancestors and was continued by her German mother. However, it was the queen’s husband, Prince Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel who actually made it popular in England in 1841 when he brought a Christmas tree over from Germany and placed it in Windsor Castle.  He subsequently took on personal responsibility for decorating the trees at the Castle.

From there the custom spread throughout the English-speaking world and beyond. I knew of  Jewish people who in the spirit of goodwill, put up a Christmas tree in keeping with the European celebration of the season. How long I ask will it be until the nether races from south Asia and woke losers from Canada, claiming it is not inclusive, demand an end to our tradition? There are communities in Canada today where these pathetic creatures have caused an end to school Christmas concerts, and we European Brothers are allowing it to happen.
